Get ready for some not-so-spooky Halloween fun with these Printable Bat Finger Puppets for Kids – Fun Halloween Paper Craft! These adorable printable bats are the perfect way to combine coloring, cutting, crafting, and imaginative play into one exciting Halloween activity. Once assembled, kids can slip the puppets onto their fingers and make their bats swoop, flap, and fly through the air.
This bat finger puppet craft is simple enough for preschoolers and elementary-aged children while still being fun for older kids. With just a few basic craft supplies, children can transform printable templates into playful little bats that are ready for endless Halloween adventures.
One of the best things about these Halloween finger puppets is that the fun doesn't stop when the crafting is finished. Kids can create funny voices for each bat, invent their own spooky stories, perform puppet shows, or act out Halloween adventures with family and friends. It's a wonderful screen-free activity that encourages storytelling and imaginative play.

As children color, cut, glue, and assemble their puppets, they're also strengthening important developmental skills. Crafting helps improve fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, creativity, concentration, and confidence. Every step gives kids another opportunity to practice using their hands while creating something they'll be excited to play with afterward.
The printable set includes six unique bat finger puppets, each with its own adorable expression and personality. Some look silly, some look curious, and others are just the right amount of spooky. Kids can color them in classic black, experiment with Halloween colors like purple and orange, or even create a rainbow colony of bats!
These printable Halloween puppets are perfect for classrooms, homeschool lessons, Halloween parties, library story times, or family craft nights. They're easy to prepare, inexpensive to make, and provide hours of creative entertainment long after the glue has dried.

Step 1: Print the Bat Finger Puppets Template
Download and print the Bat Finger Puppets template on an 8.5 x 11-inch sheet of white cardstock. Cardstock works best because it makes the puppet sturdy enough for fingers to slid in through the holes and not tear.

Step 2: Color
Use crayons, markers, or colored pencils to color the bats. Choose classic Halloween colors like black, purple, orange, or green—or create a completely unique bat!

Step 3: Cut Out Each Puppet
Carefully cut out the puppets along the outside lines. If your child is too young to handle scissors, be sure to assist them with this step.

Cutting out the finger holes can be a little tricky, but here’s an easy way to do it. Start by using a hole punch to make a small opening inside each finger hole circle.

Once you have that starter hole, carefully slide the tip of your scissors into it and slowly cut along the outline, gradually enlarging the opening until you’ve cut out the full circle. This method makes it much easier—and safer—than trying to poke your scissors straight through the paper.

Your Bat Finger Puppets are finished and ready to take flight! Slip each little bat onto your fingers and let the Halloween fun begin. Make them swoop through the night sky, flutter around a haunted house, race each other through the air, or put on a spooky (or silly!) puppet show for family and friends. You can even give each bat its own unique voice and personality to create hilarious Halloween adventures. The crafting may be complete, but the imaginative fun is just getting started. Have a fang-tastic time playing with your new bat finger puppets!
