Step 1: Print the Bat Finger Puppets Template
Download and print the Bat Finger Puppets template on an 8.5 x 11-inch sheet of white cardstock. Cardstock works best because it makes the puppet sturdy enough for fingers to slid in through the holes and not tear.
Step 2: Color
Use crayons, markers, or colored pencils to color the bats. Choose classic Halloween colors like black, purple, orange, or green—or create a completely unique bat!
Step 3: Cut Out Each Puppet
Carefully cut out the puppets along the outside lines. If your child is too young to handle scissors, be sure to assist them with this step.
Cutting out the finger holes can be a little tricky, but here’s an easy way to do it. Start by using a hole punch to make a small opening inside each finger hole circle.
Once you have that starter hole, carefully slide the tip of your scissors into it and slowly cut along the outline, gradually enlarging the opening until you’ve cut out the full circle. This method makes it much easier—and safer—than trying to poke your scissors straight through the paper.
