Easy Origami Ghost Instructions
Step 1: Fold Diagonals
Start with a square sheet of origami paper. Fold it in half diagonally to make a triangle, then unfold it. Next, fold it diagonally in the opposite direction and unfold it again. When you're finished, your paper should have an "X" crease running from corner to corner.
Step 2: Fold Corners & Unfold
Turn your paper so it looks like a diamond, with one corner pointing up and one pointing down. Fold the right corner up to meet the center of the paper. Next, fold the left corner into the center and unfold, followed by the bottom corner. When you're finished, unfold everything so all of the crease lines are visible.
Step 3: Flip the Paper Over
Carefully flip your paper over so the crease lines are now facing down.
Step 4: Fold Bottom & Top
Take the bottom corner and fold it up so the point lines up with the top horizontal crease. Make a sharp crease, then unfold it. Next, fold the top corner down so the point lines up with the bottom horizontal crease you just made. Crease the fold well.
Step 5: Fold the Sides In
Fold the left and right edges toward the center and out. As you make the folds, the corners at the top will naturally stick out to the sides, just like the photo above.
Step 6: Fold the Top Flaps
Starting on the right side, fold the top portion of the flap down and tuck it in as you fold it back toward the right. Repeat the same fold on the left side. Your ghost should now be starting to take shape.
Step 7: Form the Ghost's Head
Fold the top left and top right corners inward toward the center. These small folds will round off the top and create the shape of your ghost's head.
Step 8: Form the Ghost's Tail
Start shaping the ghost's tail by folding the bottom right side inward toward the center. Repeat the same fold on the bottom left side. These folds will create a thinner, pointed tail for your ghost.
Step 9: Flip It Over
Carefully flip your ghost over so all of the folds are hidden underneath. You're almost done! Your origami ghost is really starting to take shape.
Step 10: Create the Hands
To make your ghost's hands, fold the tip of the right arm downward. Then repeat the same fold on the left arm. These small folds give your ghost two cute little hands.
Step 11: Fold the Tail
Give your ghost a little movement by folding the bottom of the tail over to the right. This simple fold makes it look like your ghost is floating through the air!
Step 12: Draw the Face
Finish your origami ghost by using markers to draw a fun face. Give it friendly eyes and a smile, or make it spooky with a surprised expression. Get creative and give your ghost its own personality!
