I will guide you through the steps to create this adorable Bunny Cootie Catcher, providing not only a delightful origami experience but also a fun bunny hand puppet to play with. Let the folds and creases unveil a world of creativity for your kids, making learning and crafting an enjoyable journey.


Did you ever make Cootie Catchers as a kid? I did! Cootie Catchers are also known as fortune tellers. This is a simple project for kids to learn basic origami skills.


Cut template out.

Directions to download your FREE Bunny Cootie Catcher template at the bottom of this post. Print on 8.5x11 white paper. Cut out the pieces.

Fold in half.

Fold the cootie catcher in half both horizontally and unfold. Then fold the cootie catcher vertically and unfold.


Fold corners into center of cootie catcher.

Flip it over so the printed side is facing down. Take the bottom right corner and fold the point into the center. Repeat step on each corner until all four corners are folded.


Fold the corners into the center of the cootie catcher.

Flip the cootie catcher again so the printed side is facing down. Take the four corners and fold them into the center again.


Fold cootie catcher in half.

Fold the cootie catcher in half vertically and undo the fold. Then fold horizontally and unfold.


How to slide fingers into cootie catcher.

Slip your fingers under the flaps and open the cootie catcher.


How to glue the cootie catcher together.

Glue the top sides together and then the bottom sides together. You will no longer be able to open the cootie catcher if you do this but it will help the puppet stay together for kids to play with.


How to glue the legs to the bunny cootie catcher.

Glue the legs to the two side of the bunny.


How to glue the arms to the bunny cootie catcher.

Glue the arms on the bottom of the bunny.


How to glue ears onto bunny cootie catchers.

Last of all, glue the ears to the top of the bunny.
