Gobble, gobble, gobble! Thanksgiving is coming up in just two short weeks! I don't know if the Thanksgiving meal or all of the fun crafts is what I like more. Thankfully I don't have choose and get to indulge in both!

I think that I love Thanksgiving so much is because it gives me a chance to slow and down and think about all of the things that I am grateful for. I love doing this gratitude project with my kids. It is fun to to hear what they are grateful for.

Did you ever make Cootie Catchers as a kid? I did! Cootie Catchers are also known as fortune tellers. This is a simple project for kids to learn basic origami skills.

Download and print your FREE Turkey Cootie Catcher template on 8.5x11 white paper. Cut out the pieces. You can find directions on how to download this at the bottom of this post.

Fold the cootie catcher in half horizontally and unfold. Then fold the cootie catcher vertically and unfold.

Flip it over so the printed side is facing down. Take the bottom right corner and fold the point into the center. Repeat step on each corner until all four corners are folded.

Flip the cootie catcher again so the printed side is facing down. Take the four corners and fold them into the center again.

Fold the cootie catcher in half vertically and undo the fold. Then fold horizontally and unfold.

Slip your fingers under the flaps and open the cootie catcher.

Glue the top sides together and then the bottom sides together. You will no longer be able to open the cootie catcher if you do this but it will help the puppet stay together for kids to play with.

Glue the snood on top of the beak in the front with a glue stick.

Glue the two fee to the bottom of the cootie catcher.

Glue the wings to the bottom sides of the cootie catcher.

Glue the feathers behind the top two squares of the cootie catcher. Fan out the feathers so they stick out in different directions.

There you have it! A Turkey Cootie Catcher!
