How To Make Printable Koala Paper Mask
Materials You'll Need
Printable Koala Mask Template
Glue
Scissors
White Cardstock Paper
Printer
Markers, Crayons or Colored Pencils
Elastic Cord (1/4 or 1/8 inch thick)

Step 1: Download & Print the Template
Start by downloading the Printable Mask template from the link provided at the end of this post. Print the template on sturdy 8.5x11 cardstock to ensure your mask is durable and ready for play.

Step 2: Color the Mask
Let your creativity shine by coloring the mask template. You can use markers, colored pencils, or crayons. Encourage your child to add unique patterns and colors to make their mask one-of-a-kind.

Step 3: Cut Out the Mask
Carefully cut out the mask along the solid lines. If your child is too young to handle scissors, be sure to assist them with this step. Don't forget to cut out the eye holes so your child can see through the mask.
To get started, have an adult gently push the tip of the scissors through the center of each eye. Then, carefully cut along the lines. Alternatively, you can use a hole punch to create a small hole, and then gradually enlarge it with scissors.

Step 4: Attach the Elastic Cord
Next, you'll need to attach an elastic cord to the back of the mask so your child can wear it comfortably. Start by measuring the elastic cord to fit around your child's head. For reference, I used a 13-inch piece, but you may need to adjust this based on your child's head size. Have an adult help with this step by using a glue gun to attach the ends of the elastic cord to the back of the mask's head, near the eyes. Make sure the cord is securely attached and allow the glue to cool and harden completely before letting your child try on the mask.

Now that your Koala Paper Masks are complete, it’s time for an Australian adventure to begin! Hand those koala masks over to your little ones and watch their imaginations come to life. Whether they’re climbing imaginary eucalyptus trees, relaxing in a pretend Australian forest, or searching for other wildlife friends, these masks are the perfect invitation to hours of creative pretend play.
Encourage kids to become wildlife explorers, create their own koala characters, and invent exciting stories about life in Australia. They can search for hidden eucalyptus leaves, make friends with kangaroos and wombats, or even organize an "Australian Animal Parade" featuring all their favorite animal masks. The crafting may be finished, but the adventure is just getting started!
