Father's Day is just around the corner, and what better way to celebrate than with a personalized craft that kids can make with their own hands? Introducing our Printable Father's Day Tie Template – a fun, interactive project that lets children express their love and appreciation for their dads. This craft is not only easy to make but also offers a creative way for kids to convey heartfelt messages through a unique and charming gift.
Children will love getting involved in this hands-on activity, which encourages creativity and thoughtful expression. The template includes a space for kids to fill out a questionnaire about their dad, allowing them to reflect on all the things that make him special. From favorite activities to memorable moments, these personalized messages will surely touch dad's heart and make him feel appreciated on his special day.
I know similar tie crafts have been created by others, but we've made some improvements to ensure our version is even better. Our ties are longer, so they actually fit and aren't too short. Don't worry, we still have the shorter tie template available if you're looking for something smaller.
Dads are sure to cherish this handmade gift, especially when they see the effort and love their kids have put into it. The Printable Father's Day Tie Template is a wonderful addition to any Father's Day celebration, adding a personal touch that store-bought gifts just can't match. Plus, it pairs perfectly with some of our other popular Father's Day crafts, like the #1 Dad Trophy and the DIY Baseball-themed card, offering even more ways to show dad just how much he means to you.
Materials Needed:

Scissors
Yarn
Markers, Crayons or Colored Pencils
Cardstock Paper (11x17 for Larger Size or 8.5x11 for Smaller Size)
Step 1: Print Template
Start by downloading and printing the Father's Day Tie Template. You can find the link to download further down the article. Make sure you have enough copies for all the kids participating in the craft.
As mentioned earlier, our ties are designed to be long enough to actually fit. We've achieved this by creating an 11x17 template, ensuring they aren't too short. Because of the larger size, you'll need to print them out at your local printers. Be sure to use heavy cardstock paper for durability.
If you prefer a more convenient option, don't worry! We've also included a smaller size that prints on standard 8.5x11 white cardstock paper. This option is perfect if you don't want to deal with larger prints.
Step 2: Color and Fill in the QuestionnaireÂ
Let the kids color the tie and fill out the questionnaire about their dad or grandpa. This step allows them to personalize the tie with their favorite colors and heartfelt answers.
Step 3: Cut Paper Tie OutÂ
Once the coloring and writing are complete, carefully cut out the tie along the designated lines. This step is best done with child-safe scissors under adult supervision.
Step 5: Glue TogetherÂ
On the questionnaire portion of the tie, cover the section labeled "Glue" with glue. Grab the top section of the tie, line it up with the questionnaire section, and firmly press them together to secure.
Step 5: Hole Punch
Using a hole punch, punch a hole in each of the two top corners of the tie.
Step 4: String
Cut a piece of string long enough to go comfortably around dad's neck with extra length to tie a bow. This string will be used to wear the tie. Thread the string through the two holes on the tie.
