Cool off this holiday with these fun 4th of July Milkshakes. The cups can be prepped the day before so all you have to do is make the shake and and top it off with whipping cream and sprinkles the day of. Not only are these milkshakes delicious but they are a work of art!

I love including my kids in the kitchen with me while I cook, especially when I am prepping for the holidays. Not only does it allow me to pass on family traditions and recipes but it gives me a chance to bond with them.

We start by preparing the cups. You can use any clear glass or plastic cup. This can be done ahead of time and set aside until your party starts. In separate containers melt red and blue candy melts according to packaging instructions. Scoop the melted candy melts into different plastic bags. With scissors cut a small opening in one of the corners of the bag. Starting with the red candy melt, squeeze it into the inside of clear glass cups. Repeat step with the blue candy melt. Let the candy melt cool and harden. Dip the tip of each glass cup into vanilla frosting. Then dip it into the sprinkles.

Pour milkshake into the prepped glass cups. Top with whipping cream and sprinkles. I also added a patriotic straw to the shake. The flag on the straw is free to download for all Artsy Kid Zone members. Best part is that it free to sign up!

Print the straw flags on heavy white 8.5×11 cardstock paper. Cut the circles out and then using a hole punch, create a hole at the top and bottom of the flag. I then put the straw through the circles.
